This movie was STUPID. My wife liked it though. And she encouraged me to finish watching it even though I found myself disinterested about one third of the way or so through the movie. She assured me that the movie had a really nice plot twist. But after she fell asleep in the lounger, I sneaked out of the room and went to bed.
I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the first Scream movie. But everything after that was more or less just a repeat of the same old crap...almost like the Saw movies! The characters were so interesting in the first movie. But in the later movies, there just isn't enough depth being added to them to keep it interesting. I really feel as though the writers and producers need to somehow learn from the
James Bond franchise. Each movie -- or at least every other one -- will focus on exploring a new side of Bond that viewers have not yet seen. This is ESPECIALLY true whenever a new actor takes over the role from a previous one. And it breathes freshness into the series. They are not achieving this with the Scream movies. It almost reminds me of the Rocky movies.
Another thing that has always bugged the crap out of me about these films is that there is no way someone in the "Ghostface" costume would be able to be successful at killing anyone (unless maybe they were paralyzed from the neck down or something). There is little to no peripheral vision in that mask. If Ghostface was to come after me, I'd simply grab a hammer and run immediately to his flank, sneak up behind him, and drive the claw into his temple. The movie
would only be about 3 minutes long if I starred in it! LOL
In summary, there are just SOME movies that do not need sequels. Scream is one of these, in my humble opinion. I give this film 0 out of 5 stars. I did not even want to finish the film and chose to go to bed early instead. I did not even have nightmares after doing so. From what I can remember of the first film, I would probably have given it a 4 out of 5 stars. I cannot believe this
movie was TRULY SO AWFUL!!!
