Perhaps he was troubled by all the men that have told their stories of being romantically chased by him, but it seems to have effected his performance. I think that if he actually was allowed to play a female in this movie he might have been more inspired to perform better.
I really feel that if he was allowed another male character to work with, perhaps a massage guy, he might reach deeper for a good performance.
