Salmon Fishing in the Yemen(2012)- User Reviews

I hate being dramatic, or cheesy, and therefore i dislike movies that are either. I mean, pretty much every third scene in this movie is a cliche, and McGregor is not funny at all, and admits it repeatedly. But this movie somehow..it just works. The sheikh character is taken from a textbook, the whole story line is easy...but still it keeps you smiling (especially if you're a fisherman) and it leaves you inspired. And isn't that what cinema is supposed to do? All the drama and cheesiness aside, this is a great movie. It delivers the message through with such ease and clarity. And what a strong message it is.
