As much as I like this movie, I don't really understand the point of it. Fighting a war in the deserts of Africa is tough. Tough on men and machines. Bogart leads a group of American soldiers across the sand in their tank. They eventually come across a group of stranded British soldiers, an African soldier and his Italian prisoner, and they even manage to capture a German pilot after the shot down his plane. With this many people, the water goes quickly, so the search for a well is on. They come up empty many times before finally finding one that drips water. After filling their canteens, they learn that they are about to be attacked by a group of Germans who do not have water...the battle is on. It really is better than it sounds.
