I read all the previous reviews posted here before I wrote my own feeling about this movie. I found that most people who take "Simone" as a comedy disliked it. I just wanna say,it is not a lousy comedy. It's an amazing art movie. I always love Andrew Nicole's works. His movies are thought-enlightened. We need movies like this. I noticed that all the people who like this movie are basically art movie fans,while the guy who likes the moive,such as" Freaky Friday(a piece of laughter only)"loathed Simone. U see? Just different tastes. People watches the same movie. However,they expect the different things. Are people crazy about"American Pies"? I guess there are many. They think it's wonderful comedy. For me,I think it disgrace the term of COMEDY. I hardly laughed while I was watching it. Actually, my frineds forced me to see it. I felt embarrassed when the guy was f***ing the old grandma in the darkness and people saw it without a frown but laughters. I just do not understand. I will never understand why nowadays people like that kinda of movies. Some so called comedies are actually mocking the humankind, which is ourselves. But they think it is fun. I got nothing to say but sigh. Well,back to where we were. I like this movie. I'm not saying it's perfect. Especially,I watched" Trueman Show" befroe Simone. I feel that the stories are kinda alike. Just analogical ideas in the themes. I was expecting more from Andrew.
