Running with Scissors(2006)- User Reviews

This was one messed up movie. I agree with some of the reviews that there was laughter throughout, but most of the laughter I think was nervous, awkward laughter. Maybe I just didn't know what I was getting into, maybe it just wasn't my kind of movie, but it was just too messed up to be enjoyable. One middle age couple behind me left after the TMI gay sex scene, and I couldn't blame them. Watching a middle age man have sex with a 13 year old boy is a little ridiculous. The one highlight of this movie was the relationship between Augusten and Agnes. Everyone is talking about Annette Benning, but the best character/actress in this movie was Agnes. She was the one high point in an otherwise dreadful movie.
