Rise of the Planet of the Apes(2011)- User Reviews

I was a huge fan of the previous movies and really expected a similar story line and as good as this movie is, I was a bit disapointed that it was really nothing like the original. I should have read the reviews, but I have found that reviews are like ice cream, everyone likes and dislikes every flavor, so in order not to be influenced by the reviews, I went and enjoyed the movie for its story line and animation, but now know I didn't see everything because I left when the credits started as I had a lunch date right after. For that, I'm disapointed. Overall, the movie is very good, but I don't appreciate the title when it's nowhere near the same story and I really don't like being duped at todays movie prices. I'll wait until the next one comes out on DVD before watching. Maybe a title like, "Planet of the Apes - The beginning" would have better prepared me. I grew up with this movie, I expected more. In closing, the movie was much better than the forethought for its life long followers.........Animation and story great ! Hollywood, as usual, short of honest movie value.
