Legendary film director George Cukor's final film, Rich and Famous boost a wonderful performances from Jacqueline Bissett and Candice Bergen. He was known as a great director for women. Having done The Women with Joan Crawford. Here is the story of two best friends from college who follow different paths but have the same profession-writing. Bergen, is a sucessful novelist ala Jackie Collins, who write a serious novel in a attempt to establish credibility. And, Bissett-who has the best part, and gives a wonderful performance is a suffering from writers block after her acclaim novel. This movie shows friendship as well as rivalry that occurs between friends. Is a well made soap opera but you care about these people and what will happen next. Look for Meg Ryan in her memorable film debut as Bergen's wayward daughter and Matt Lattanzi who was really famous for being married to Olivia Newton-John. This is a wonderful picture that you can enjoy with a fine bottle of wine and a fire and your best friend too.
