My review is simple...
Want to see 3D pushed beyond it's limits? Want to see what a film carried by a strong female lead is like? Want to watch a movie where the women in it aren't playing some disgustingly trashy, defenseless, characters?
Watch Resident Evil: Retribution.
I find it HILARIOUS that even my wife (who is a woman) hates the very existence of this franchise and YET she is willing to go on and on for hours about sexism and equality towards women in media. It's isn't hilarious. It is shameful.
Spoiler Alert: In the closing 15 minutes of this film...it is pretty much entirely women beating the crap out of everybody. In stunt scenes that rival the best I've ever seen. The pure athleticism of the perilous maneuvers is enough of a reason to see this film.
Plot: Saying Resident Evil: Retribution does not have a plot is like saying your life does not have a plot. Everyday you wake up to go to work or school and the plot of that is "survival."
So for someone to say that a film about "survival" has no plot is rather like saying..."Kim Kardashian is an Astro-physicist." It's just not true at all.
In Closing: The people who are writing negative reviews and comments are the very same people who LOVED...Rambo, Conan, TrueLies, DemolitionMan, CliffHanger and SnakeEyes. Which is Ironic because trying to explain the plot of Cliffhanger is like trying to explain why you should use cheese as a bullet proof vest. It's just stupid!
