Rent(2005)- User Reviews

This is possibly the worst movie I have seen all year. First of all the lenghth is insane. Including previews it's about three hours. I love musicals, but some things need to be spoken. The whole movie there was hardly any actual speaking. There was one number in which Rosario Dawson's character sang about looking for her stash. In my opinion all of the characters deserved to be evicted. If you spend your time and money shooting up and having sex freely, then naturally you're going to be broke. I could care less about what happened to the characters. They were about as well developed as cardboard. The first two numbers were sensational. After that, the movie plunged into a dark abyss of bad movies, and never pulled itself out. The singing and acting was great, but the movie was so awful that you could not even concentate on anything else. This is the first movie that has been so bad that I have had to physically leave. I leave you with this, if you want to see a GOOD musical, rent Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Cabaret, or My Fair Lady. Don't waste your time and hard earned money on this piece of crap.
