This film reminds of Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury" where the approach is to tell an incident from the examination of different characters and form a stream of consciousness with the different tone and language that every character uses. Once getting the meaning and essence of the incident, a person can critique how people of different classes and genders view their personalized struggle in relation to the incident.
Even when the people in the abandoned shrine are talking, not really affected by the story, still offer their own reactions and show another side of humanity by their own unique response to the incident.
