Johnny Depp and Gore Verbinski should be ashamed at producing this concoction of references to other movies and poorly developed heavy themes. It struggles to entertain with childish comidy and eye catrching images and language. The technical animation wizardry would be nice if there was the slightest foundation for it to stand on. I think the kids today can handle serious material like injustice, exploitation, greed, and abuse of power, but if you are going to do that story you have to take on those issues. For Pete sake do justice to injustice, its not a joke. A handful of misfit dreamers struggling to hold on to dirt in the face of the development of what: The Promised Land. It just doesn't work on any level. Throwing in a little graphics to spice up this ill conceived mixture makes our teens sick, the young adults fall asleep and the adults get a headache. It is too bad there is an audience for this stuff and too bad these guys make money selling it.
