Edward Burns is the only true "autuer" working in film today. He writes, directs, and produces, his own films. He can hit "notes" of realism (framed by his own sarcastic slant) that are only glimpsed in the mainstream media. The theme here is lovely and honest. The hit is Selma Blair, who has been relegated to making the "Hellboy" movies as "Firegirl" (or whatever?). Just savor the simplicity of her ability to express deep feelings without words. She is a true "method actress", putting all the popular "bimbo" "actresses" to shame. She reminds me of a 60's French actress: The best!
