Not to be confused with,"Proof of life" a movie about a woman searching for her husband,"Proof" is about a {homely,mentally anguished} woman and her deceased father,a brilliant math teacher.
The movie uses flashbacks to show the two in various scenes thru their 5 yrs together and weave a story of madness and mechanical mind splay.
As the movie begins,it is the day of the funeral and freinds are gathering ;and the nerdy woman surprises them all by giving an impromptu talk about her father and how smelly,messy and difficult he was in his later yrs. This akward pause frustrates relatives and continues thae woman's downward spiral into mental anguish even trying to take {illogicl} credit for her late father's math discoveries.
The movie is not without good supportive acting however, by the {giddy} sister,a {compassionate} grad student and Sir Anthony's usual{cormungenous} splendid role,beautiful vistas of Rockerfeller chapel on a college campus,as well.
