Total dissapointment:
1.Charlize Theron stays fully clothed throughout (a serious waste of talent)
2.Characters act like standard C-movie rejects i.e. – treating an alien snake/viper like a puppy? “She’s beautiful…here girl” (spoiler alert – that character dies ruthlessly).
3.Poor plot development: discovery of cave drawings quickly leads to trillion dollar space mission where none of the occupants know who they are working for or why they are there…although hours later they are willing to sacrifice their lives (who are they?) to stop the unknown life forms from an equally unknown objective.
There are too many ridiculous things to even mention without entering into a thesis-lengthed diatribe about the film. The bottom line is that it is an intellectually and cinematically lazy effort – arguably not even worth a Red Box $1 rental value.
A great Sci-Fi concept was squandered…Do not hesitate to miss this one.
