Ridley Scott has not dissapointed with every film he has directed Alien,Blade Runner & Gladiator , Now here comes Prometheus the genre that put Ridley Scott on the map & what he does best Sci- Fi Horror & i am looking forward to seeing this film & Prometheus can be 2012 surprise hit & with The Avengers grabbing all the attention (Worthy attention) This film might be the gem that will bring down the juggernaut thats been rulling the box office for the past couple of weeks

Prequel, Sequel whatever..it's RIDLEY back at sci-fi, HIS GENRE aftr almost 30 years, there are ALIENS in this, however, the're much LARGER han the LV426thnags, and theyre MUCH more SEXUAL in nature...as they probably like myself woud enjoy a MOUTHFUL of KITTEN. anyway.....the SPACE JOCKEYS are NOT BENEVOLENT AT ALL, THEY'RE NOT NICE, ETC. WILD STUFFLLLNVIEWLITSF OH MY GOSH, LOVE ME IN THE MOANING, THEN JUST WULK AWAY..WE DON'T HAVE TUMMURUWOBUT DAMNWEDIDITFIVETIMES YESTERSAY....I LOVE U SO MUCH.BUH BUH

i don't think it's a prequel at all. from the way it looks, i think it's just a story but in the same setting established in the alien movies. it would make sense

The elephant man pilot sent out the warning. He had the critter attached to his face and had had his innards blown out by the alien. It will have to be a very convoluted set of circumstances to make this a logical prequel based upon all the sequels that followed. Time will tell.

If you look at the android teaser, they say in it that he was made by Weyland Corp., From one of the trailers you see the guy that was fosillized, and the alien ship from the first movie it does look like it but only part of it!! From everything I have seen it does seem to be a prequil set very early in the alien universe before the Nostromo lands there! There is also the fact that there was a warning beacon if there are survivors from this movie it stands to reason that they are probably the ones that would leave it there!

In the trailer pay close attention to the back round sounds, that ear piercing screaming sound was first used in advertisements for the original ALIEN, so I think Mr Scott is definitely appealing to those of us who were scared to death by his first ALIEN movie. I can't wait to be terrified all over again.

It looks like from one of the Advertisement, a scene from Alien. From the first movie Alien? When they very first found Alien eggs!

the original Alien movie was taken from a story in a Sci fi magazine... from 1978... I read the 1st chapter while overseas.... the story was bought & they never continued it in the magazine the following months.

It is an Alien prequel, so all of the Alien movies are sequels to it. It is done by Ridley Scott, who directed the original.
