Charlie,a timid H.S. boy comes from a Christian home,has good supportive parents,has a light hearted comical dad,goes to a good school,yet he still harbors a hurt from childhood.
When he meets some new school chums he falls head over heels in infatuation for Sam who is Patrick's step sister.
Patrick becomes a close freind of Charlie and the two share many a H.S. memory. But it is Sam that gets Charlie humming and gets him to write about his life story on a typewriter while he is hospitalized for past trauma.
Needless to say it its a story set in another era,another fashion style,and the kids too are from another decade. Even their eyebrows are strangely shaped to perfection. But kids are kids in any situation and the movie rings true as a coming of age memoir as related by Charlie. Sweet acting and super musical sound track.
