Patton(1970)- User Reviews

I cannot believe that this movie only has a B+ averate rating. But then again, whoever puts out the 100 best movies list removed Patton and put Platoon on the list. The latter is a good movie, but hardly in the same league as Patton.

Quite simply: This is one of the best movies ever, not just war movie. This movie is stunning in terms of filming, intelligent (the Germans are portrayed realistically as opposed to cartoonish crap of today - think Inglorious Bastards), and it shows the sweep of history as well as Patton the man. The only shortcomings are some small historical inaccuracies - mostly composite shots of actual events.
