I like Tim Burton, I really do. I like the idea behind the story. But, he had at most about 30-40 minutes of a feature here. Everything else was unnecessary and boring. I could see if there were nuances to the plot that pulled together later, but... Truthfully, I couldn't even tell you what the first hour was really about. It was a whole lot of nothing. The last 30 minutes were the best, and even that was dragged out. I thought the imagery was really powerful and so was the message, at the end. But, everything else - fluff. Self-gratifying fluff.
