Beautiful Dark Masterpiece

In one word this movie is Magical! The very view point of this movie is almost watching a dream that turns into a nightmare without you even noticing the differences between the beauty and the horrifying. This movie leaves you wanting more and leaves a mark on your imagination streak. The movie takes place in 1942 Spain and its all in the eyes of Offelia (A snub from the 2006 Oscars for Best Actress played beautifully by Ivana Baquero) who in her spare time reads nothing but fairy tales, is sudenly forced to be moved along with her pregnant mother (A Pain Staking Performance portrayed by Ariadma Gil) Carmen who is inpregnated by the stern, crude (Played with such anger it burns a hole in the screen by Sergio Lopez)General Vital. Offelia is a young girl thrown into the harsh reality that is war but in the darkness there is light. The maid Mercedes (A subtle but not easily forgotten Maribel Verdu)is almost a second mother to offelia. Through all this Offelia and her vivid imagination goes off into an R-Rating version of "Alice in Wonderland". Pan's Labryinth is a movie that defines what cinema can do and what cinema has been lacking in these so called "Art Movies". This movie is a true Art Movie that is almost as if it were a candid painting on a canvas and only the fortunate get to see. Pan's Labryinth is a movie that paints a world that is so beautiful that it is hearbreakinig. To know that this world is imagined by a young girl who is trying to escape the harsh realities of this empty vessel of a world is completely Gorgeous! A complete Masterpiece that will be a cinema classic for future generations to come
