Pan's Labyrinth(2006)- User Reviews

I rented the movie on On Demand recently because I remembered reading about how good it was a few years ago. The story is not revolutionary, but it is an well told story about a girl who tries to get away from the world around her and finds a fairy tale world to and complete three tasks to prove that she is the return of a princess that lives in a fairy tale land underground. I will warn thought that the movie is very graphic an is not a children's movie. The Acting in the film is amazing, the girl, who has never done a film before does acting better than some movie stars in Hollywood. The stepfather of the girl is one of the most sadistic people that I have seen in a film, he does a sadistic soldier very well for an actor who usually plays comedy roles. I will warn again that the film is in subtitles so it might turn some people off. I personally never had a problem with subtitles after a while of watching the movie I do not even notice I am reading them. The film pulls you in from start to finish and the ending will leave you shocked. If you do not have a weak stomach and don't mind reading subtitles, this film is for you.
