Oz: The Great and Powerful(2013)- User Reviews

The title says it all...I was quite impressed with the tornado and waterfall scenes, as well as the intricacy and uniqueness of the little china doll/girl. That was a pleasant surprise. I can see how this would be a great movie for kids, although the monkeys were probably a bit much for say, aged six and under group. The storyline was...so, so...not bad, just, not nearly what I was expecting. The acting, especially Franco's, was very ho-hum average. I would rather have liked to have seen Johnny Depp or Robert Downey Jr. in this role.
All in all, a great "kid "movie...adults should enjoy the special effects and scenery. Disney outdid itself with all of that, but the rest of the aspects seem that much more lacking in comparison. I think they could have done so much more to turn this one into a true classic down the road.
