It was not a good movie for me. The kid sitting behind me appeared to enjoy it. I thought it was badly mis-cast and the script was terrible too. It's disappointing that this movie tarnishes the Oz legacy. James Franco was really weak in this roll. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

The visuals were good, the acting wasn't bad, and this was a decent attempt to do a prequel to the classic, "Wizard of Oz". However, this movie dragged and the plot seemed to be kind of thrown together. I think this movie would have been …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

This movie could be read as a bedtime story. That is why it is good. The way disney decided to use the special effects makes this movie great. The special effects just help illustrate the story, they are not the story. Think of Abraham Vampire Hunter, …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

Randomly jumps between stylized, theatrical language and conversational one liners. Average playwriting work …more»1 of 3 people found this review helpful-

Bad acting, boring and a waste of time and money. James Franco is sleazy on screen and in life and the worst actor there is. Why anybody would put him in a movie even one this bad I do not understand. A rip-off for any one over the age of 5. What are …more»0 of 2 people found this review helpful-

I think it was great, not perfect though. The story between the witches and Oz was interesting and it made sense. It was a good prequel for the Wizard of Oz.
I think James Franco and the actresses who played the witches did a really good job, but the …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

The movie itself is not badly made, but as the story progresses you start to get a bit bored. The charisma of the other films just isn't there. It would have helped if they used actors instead of CGI effects as castmates to Franco (who acted very …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful
