The Color Purple didn't win the Oscar, but this did? Huh? The movie is too long. The plot is dull. The characters are dull. Ms. Streep's performance is like ALL her performances, strained. She is one actress who is never really interested in the role she is playing. She is only interested in it as a showcase for her pretentious acting.
