Not for people easily offended or sensitive. This movie makes fun of mentally ill people/bi-polar people, various races, women, men, genitalia, mall walkers, kiosk workers, thieves, mexicans, drunks, cops, news reporters, asian twins, and hot chicks.
Paul Blart who??? This movie is the best mall cop movie made in a long time. I'm not easily offended so I'm not so sensitive about the issues tackled in the movie. Seth Rogen plays Ronnie, a crazy ass hell badass mall security (head of mall security) who is a lovable loser with an inflated ego but badass kung-fu skills. Ronnie is on a mission to take down a mall parking lot flasher (yes, an actual penis flasher). Now, when you add in genitalia comedies tend to go more over the top than funny. Well the flasher is actually kind of funny. Great cast, an OK storyline and some good one-liners. The music rocks in the movie and is very well-timed to what's happening in the film. Anna Faris plays the make-up counter girl who is Rogen's love interest. Ray Liotta isn't that funny in the film and plays a cop investigating the flasher and antagonizing Rogen. Assid Ansari plays "Saddam", a worker at a kiosk in the middle of the mall who doesn't get along with Rogen's character. And a cameo by Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down) is hilarious. My fave character is Michael Pena, who plays Rogen's seemingly faithful mall cop side-kick. This guy is funny and delivers some of the most memorable moments in the film. "My bad, my blunder".
Should you spend $12 to see this at the movies? NO
Can you spare $5 to rent it from blockbuster? YES...it is worth it. Watch this movie at least once. Then watch it again, you will want to.
