Night at the Museum(2006)- User Reviews

I personally think that the idea of a museum coming to life at night is kinda cool. I do think that they made it a bit to silly though. This is a kid's movie though so I guess I'll give the silliness that is in this movie a pass. The main source of the silliness is in the script. Hearing Owen Wilson say "Gigantor" is completely somthing that little kids are going to want to hear or at least they'll enjoy hearing all of these big name stars talkin funny. I think that they did cast these characters perfectly. Ben Stiller and Robin Williams were especially casted perfectly I thought. Anyway let's go through the plot summary. Ben Stiller is a man who is struggling for a job I believe and the only job that he is able to get is a job as the night guard at the museum. You ask "NIGHT guard?" Yes. On the job descrpition it says "Nothing or nobody gets in or out." OUT? Yes, out. As you are probably aware, the sculptures and artifacts come to life at night and this is a movie about Ben Stiller managing the problems that these things cause. It is somewhat entertaining. I must say though the problem isn't that there are alot of things wrong with this movie it's just that there are not alot of things that go right in this movie. It is a kids movie but personally I think that if I were a kid I might pass on this. Just depending on the word of mouth that I may hear from my friends. But I'm not a kid so it's not really my problem. My have a few negatives. The main problem with this movie is that a majority of this relys on comedy. Not all of the comedy succeeds. There are quite a few jokes that fall flat and don't work. There is a certain point through were it laggs but it picks up at the end. I think that this is simply a mediocre and entertaining movie, somewhat cool. It's better if you just see this at home than at the theatre. You may not get as much enjoyment as you hoped to get from this if you were to go to the theatre so I think you should just not take the risk. Better safe than sorry. Entertaining, silly kids movie. HIGH RENTAL.
