Co-stars Zac Efron and Michelle Pfeiffer previously appeared together in "Hairspray" (2007). In a recent press conference, Efron revealed that he had a big crush on Pfeiffer during production of that movie and found himself tongue-tied. The main reason he agreed to appear in 'New Year's Eve' was so that he could not only play opposite the legendary actress, but kiss her as well. He later stated that kissing her was "amazing."
