Nacho is the funniest movie of the summer...

Nacho Libre, for me anyways, had to be the funniest movie i'd seen this year so far. i could not stop laughing the minute the movie started. i was never a big fan of dry humor until Napoleon Dynamite but now that I have seen both, I find myself delving into this other side or theatrical humor. to really enjoy this movie, you have to be really open for anything and you have to be really observant. dry humor movies such as this, tend to rely on the viewer's attention to detail, much so like in comics, where things or people in the background make up a funny story of their own. from the run-down towns in mexico, to the various freaks of nature inhabiting the setting, you will find yourself gut-wrengchingly laughing your heart out. i had stretches of 6 minutes of uncontrollable laughter just looking at the characters' facial expressions down to the mexican accent or lack thereof each one displays. Jack Black is hilarious in this movie, playing as the "hero" to the orphans whom "he loves so much" and tries to make up for his sorry cooking by wrestling for fresh ingredients for his next breakfast concoction. Much love has to be given to the other characters as well. Mainly, "Esquelto", Nacho's venerable sidekick in this movie, who at first appeared to be a chip-munching bum, who eventually was subject to all kinds of pain and torture as they were in training in the first part of the flick. His mexican accent coupled with words such as "for realz" and "i don't believe in God, i believe in science." will go down in movie history as one of the best lines that will keep you saying it again and again in your head whilst bursting out in laughter. overall, this movie is great. one of the best movies i've seen this year. sure it is gonna be a cult movie, with it's selective humor, but regardless of what the reviews are out there for it, this movie is hands down one movie that is worth the time and attention of anyone who is willing to take the risk into dry humor only to come out of the theater with the most fun 1 and 1/2 hours you could spend this summer.
