"Moonrise Kingdom" is brilliant! This is how the story goes: Set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s, as a young boy and girl fall in love they are moved to run away together. Various factions of the town mobilize to search for them and the town is turned upside down -- which might not be such a bad thing.

The cast led by Bruce Willis (as Captain Sharp), Edward Norton (as Scout Master Randall Ward), Bill Murray (as Walt Bishop), Frances McDormand (as Laura Bishop), Tilda Swinton (as Social Services), Jared Gilman (as Sam), Kara Hayward (as Suzy), Jason Schwartzman (as Cousin Ben) & Bob Balaban (as The Narrator) is brilliant. The directing by Wes Anderson (who also wrote the story & screenplay & produced the film, as well) is brilliant. The story & screenplay by Anderson & Roman Coppola is brilliant.

The music by Alexandre Desplat is brilliant. The cinematography by Robert D. Yeoman is brilliant. The film editing by Andrew Weisblum is brilliant. The casting by Douglas Aibel is brilliant. The production design by Adam Stockhausen is brilliant. The art direction by Gerald Sullivan is brilliant. The set decoration by Kris Moran, set dressings by Shadya H. Ballug, Steve Brennan, Jason Case, Jessica Case, Jared Hartley, Kevin C. Lang, Erik Malkovich, Brian McKenzie, Nancy A. Pavia & John Ryder, set designs by Jeremy Woodward is brilliant. The costume design by Kasia Walicka-Maimone is brilliant. The special effects coordinated by John Ruggieri is brilliant. The visual effects supervised by Dan Schrecker & Gene Warren III is brilliant. The stunts coordinated by Paul Marini is brilliant.

This is a terrific film that is well-made and well-done (as well as well-crafted). Wes Anderson has made one of his best movies of his career, if not, his best movie yet. This is also a film that has a terrific cast of stars that will keep you entertained. This is also one of the best films of the year and sure be remembered come Oscar season.
