Not a Bad Film

For the first 30 minutes, my impressions of "Mr. Roberts" were that it was a waste of a great, great cast - perhaps the greatest cast ever assembled.

But as the film progressed, it became engrossing and even unforgettable at times.

Jack Lemmon (always underrated) stole the show, but Fonda, Powell and Cagney were nearly his equal.

When I saw the acting lineup, I had great expectations and this film fell just short of great (it was a big cheesy at times), despite its wonderful and classic ending.
