Emily Watson's performance in a companionabe supporting role is the highlight of this sweet, touching little film which follows the early career of children's book author and illustrator Harriet Potter. Renee Zellwegger was badly miscast to play a repressed Edwardian spinster, but is carried along by Ms. Watson and a deliberately understated, gentlemanly deference, by always dependable Ewan McGregor.
