Generation Gap Exposed

star55

A few more years and a movie like this will not be made because we will have too many generations who never got indoctrinated with dead and drunk while male authors and artists. Even lesbian Gertrude Stein had to await the women's movement to get discovered. I suspect appreciation of this movie will fall strongly along generation lines with the politically correct generation hating this because they never got the classic liberal arts education of decades past. And those of us on the other side of the generation gap ( 1960s or earlier) will find ourselves utterly haunted and charmed as well as chagrined because of this narrow liberal arts exposure we did get which did in fact confine itself to the musings of dead, drunk white male authors and artists. This is a movie dedicated to the rapidly temps perdu and thank goodness it was made just in time before collective memories of our shared exposures to this temps perdu era is erased from collective consciousness forever.
