Match Point(2005)- User Reviews

Match Point could definitely pass for a Shakespeare adaptation, it is that complex and multi-layered. The motif of luck is explored most excellently through superb acting and unparalleled directing. The opera music that frequents particularly poignant scenes serves as a constant reminder of the theatricality of it all. Match Point is truly a movie masterpiece of the 21st century. I have seen some of the other reviews that have been posted on here, some of them negative. The negative comments come largely from those who were bored during the film. This film is strictly for intellectuals I believe, not for action lovers. This film left me meditating on the themes and motifs presented.
