Predictible plot lines with shallow characters, I fell asleep to it on DVD, only to waken (for more punishment) in the AM, hoping somehow a magic fairy replaced it with something more interesting; she didn't.
We've all seen this love triangle …more»5 of 7 people found this review helpful-

There comes a point in a tennis match where the ball hits the top of the net. It bounces straight up in the air and, with a bit of luck, it falls your way. Woody Allen's "Match Point" explores that moment of luck and all the consequences …more»152 of 178 people found this review helpful-

Woody Allen is finished and desperate. He's remaking his own movie (Crimes and Misdemeanors) with hot young actors to cash in. And he's doing it poorly. It's pathetic.
Everything about this movie is either bad or at best mediocre. It's …more»20 of 48 people found this review helpful-

Unless you think Woody Allen can do no wrong, be very cautious in spending your money on this movie. Terrible dialogue, predictable plot, terrible acting, awful directing and pacing, and unsympathetic characters that you couldn't give a damn about. …more»12 of 23 people found this review helpful-

Despite Scarlett Johanssen, Jonathan Rhys Myers, and Brian Cox, this movie only grossed a measley $23 million, a definite box office failure. Why does it fail so miserably? A horrible story thats why thats too slow then ends suddenly. It makes no sense, …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

NOT MUCH HAPPENS FOR THE FIRST 2/3 OF THIS OVERWROUGHT, PREDICTABLE, SO-CALLED "THRILLER".
There is absolutely no humor throughout. I was so starved for something to happen that when something DOES occur, there is a tendency to put alot of …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

This was a really okay movie, nice to watch. After I saw it I read some reviews about what a "Woody Allen Masterpiece" it was. Well, ok, you can't separate Woody from his enarmored critics, but please, this movie looks and runs like 3 …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

You would not realize it was a Woody Allen unless you saw the credits. Demonstrates that unknown actors (at the time), small budget and foreign locations can create the perfect setting for a fabulous movie. The plot is just smart and the ending is uncommon, …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful
