My daughter is almost 13 and is just starting to appreciate the horror genre. I have been a fan since her age, but as I've gotten older the movies with imagination and "jump" are much more enjoyable than the torture and graphic murders in so many of the movies today. After reading early reviews and seeing a PG13 rating, I thought this would be perfect for us to enjoy together and we weren't disappointed. The story was great and kept us on our toes. It had just enough "jumps" to keep us laughing nervously and wondering what would happen next. The kids were fantastic actresses. Personally, I was disappointed in the ending - but my 13 year old thought it was great. "Lilly was weird - she needed to go with Mama, she'd never have adjusted like Victoria" Maybe that's what the director thought, too . . .
