Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa(2008)- User Reviews

Yes, the animals are back, but this time, they are no longer in Madagascar. Picking up where the first film left off, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has Alex and his friends on a plane back to Central Park Zoo, but their plan goes terribly wrong when they crash in Africa. But everything's okay, though, because Africa appears to be paradise, and Alex and Co. find animals of their kind while the plane is being fixed. The conflict in this film corrects the main mistake of the first film. In the original Madagascar, the conflict in the story was solely between Alex and Marty. In this film, the story is more developed, with the a few conlicts involving Alex and Marty, Alex and his father, and Melman and Gloria. Also, there is much better animation this time around. What this movie lacks, however, is humor. The original Madagascar was hilarious. This one didn't have as many jokes or sight gags. Overall, I'd prefer this film over the original because of story, which is always the most important element. If it's the whole family you're worried about, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa would be a pretty good movie to see.
