My wife and I loved this movie when it came out and we watch the DVD every Christmas. It has not only become my favorite Christmas movie, it's probably my favorite movie overall. The mixture of intertwining stories give you a wonderful holiday feel. This said by someone who doesn't generally like romantic comedies. You really get caught up in the individual stories, even those that don't have the usual happy endings.
There are many reviewers here who object to the language and nudity in the film, but I can't understand why. Everything is done as would happen in life and nothing just to get an "R" rating. Credit to the Brits for tasteful use of the material and their color-blindness, as blacks and whites interact normally and with each other.
Seven years and eight viewings have not diminished the joy of seeing this movie or feeling the emotions the movie builds. This could have been a cheap romantic comedy in other hands, but it turns out to be one of the best.
