I enjoyed this movie and really appreciated the cultural insight as to how people behave in a foreign country. But the ending (for me) really, really, really sucked. The relationship between Bob & Charlotte really becomes meaningless to me when we see Bob in bed with the lounge singer, and the "long good-bye, and suck face "passionate?" kiss at the end was entirely empty and void of any feelings for me. Bob lost ALL character credibility to me. So ... how he "really feels" towards Charlotte (in the end) is pointless. This movie was a depresssing reminder to me how Western culture of infidelity, casual sex, and how easily and disposable people become just worthless and without morals or true values, people are wicked, evil and hurtful - and they don't even know or are aware of their evil behavior. I don't think the intention of this story was to make out Bob as a "bad guy", but in the end, that's all he becomes to me. So ... I lost all interest in Bob's story, the movie in general, and the all too depressing realities of being human. This movie could have been a sweet story instead of an evil one. Too bad. This story was sooooo close to being a memorable story, rather than a boring one.
