A foreign slavic woman living in western europe is made to do illegal activities in order to gain another citizenship,and another,and another,etc. The movie is so convoluted in trickery and deceit that in the end even the woman knows that and has a change of heart. She is not now willing to marry a Russian man and asks if he will marry her despite the fact that she may or may not be pregnant.
The dead man who was her first illegal husband was killed and now she believes she is now pregnant by him and not her new boyfriend tho the nurse t the hospital says otherwise.
The final scene as she is alone in solitude in a forest shows her talking to her unborn child and sinking into madness and remorse.
