A story about a hitman who would do anything to save the life of the woman he loves more than his own, even if it means by going back in time to end his own existence before even meeting her in the first place. How he managed the events to fall in the moment where his younger self would commit a suicide for a good cause and not just die by the hands of another endangered looper.
Some audience may think its about the Rainmaker and how the story should revolve around him. It is not about him, because if you think about it and put together the time travel logic you can see that there's nothing Old Joe and Young Joe could do to change the Rainmaker's existence. So if you try to force yourself to beleive that the story is about the Rainmaker then the plot would be flawed.
