Intriguing, "Looper" definitely had me glued to the screen. This Sci-Fi thiller really has a good story, some good acting and cast. While "time travel" is a selling point, this isn't your run-off-the-mill "Jumper" movie. Characters aren't soaring through time in the numbers. Instead, the time travel element is just a part of the story, necessary to make the sum of the whole. There's actually a story, a mystery, and a plot that keeps us focused, not the special effects of a time machine. That said, while straight forward, there are many ideas and parts to the movie. So much so, in fact, that I wish there were another 30 mins added to elaborate on details and allow the moving parts to develop a bit. And I think that because of the Hollywood "truncation" to keep the movie shorter, all the brilliance this movie had to offer was a bit grossed over. All the explanations were there, but with all the intriguing ideas, I wanted more. I absolutely think Looper could have been a two part movie. Bleeping budgets! In all, it's definitely worth seeing, then ponder about it for a while.
