Lincoln(2012)- User Reviews

This 2+ hours was wasted on the 13th amendment struggle in Congress that in reality was no where near the drama portrayed and could have been encapsulated in ten minutes. I was very disappointed that the movie didn't instead showcase the life of Lincoln from his youth and early career through the turmoil of his presidency. More emphasis should have been given to his character, personality and the complications of his marriage, of which so little is known by the average person. Instead we were given a soap opera litany of endless conversations which yielded little of interest.

Sally Field's acting morphed from underdone to overdone, as if she realized, being the veteran performer that she is, that her script was way beneath her capability.

A terrible production that had so much potential. What a shame.
