The movie opens with a scene of two black soldiers, one questioning President Lincoln about the inequality of black and white soldiers. Oh brother! You knew where this movie was headed right then and there. Two hours on the "behind the scenes" politics of passing the 13th Ammendment. And oh yeah, by the way, Lee surrendered, the South was defeated, and Lincoln was assassinated (all in the last half hour). More #$%$ Hollywood garbage. Too bad. Lincoln was an awesome president and Spielberg has definitely lost his touch. I'm sure he'll get his Oscar for it by all his buddies, but personally, I thought it was not one of his best.
