What an intimate and touching film.You feel like you are there in the middle of this movie in their presence. You hear and read about Lincoln but this movie seemed to bring him more to life. What an intelligent and compassionate man. It is like his entire life he prepared for his presidency. What a hard life he led. And in such difficult times. It is hard to imagine all the burdens he bore and the pressures. All of the other Congressmen and Senators were all interesting characters. The fought like cats and dogs. The air of Washington does not seem that different than today, all the players behave the same. The is movie is really worth seeing. What a great man, what a great President. It is almost like you need to see it twice to really take in everything. Steven Spielberg did and amazing job, he must be proud of his artist piece. I really loved this movie. I am sure Daniel Day Lewis will have an award nomination.
