My wife and i saw Lincoln yesterday at the early show. The theatre was about half full not bad for a movie that has been out for some time. From the first screen we were captivated. The sets costumes and actors all made you feel like you were in 1865. I was aware of the effort Lincoln put into the Emancipation Proclamation, but not the amount of effort and arm twisting he had to do for the 13th amendment or importance to the ending of the Civil War. All of the actors were marvelous , especially Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus Stevens, Daniel Day Lewis as Lincoln and Sally Field as Mrs. Lincoln. When it ended you could hear everyone muttering what a wonderful film it was. If you are expecting an action movie forget it, but if you want to see a great film this is a must see.
