Lincoln(2012)- User Reviews

This is the first Spielberg film where he lets the focus of the film be the performances of the actors, and not visuals or storytelling. They do not try to add more drama to it, but they definitely picked an interesting and dramatic time of our country.

Another strong performance by Daniel Day Lewis (no surprise here). He really humanizes a character from our history that most of us only have are familiar with from our school books, which mostly just tell us what he did, not who he was.

There are lots of good supporting performances, especially Tommy Lee Jones & James Spader. The film is a bit longer than necessary, but is an engaging political drama/thriller that pulls you in, and makes our legislative process interesting!
