This movie shows that the congress of 1865 wasn’t much different that today’s congress except the bills of 1865 were one page and everyone read it, now the bills are hundreds and sometimes thousands of pages and no one reads them. The other big difference in 1865 was there was a true leader in the White House. This country hasn’t had one in a long time.

Ps. if you a history buff see the movie. If you’re looking for battle scenes with blood and guts stay home.
