Sally Field, Tommie Lee Jones and every other over-used ancient Hollywood hack was …more»3 of 5 people found this review helpful-

Spielberg, his actors and the production and historian team---for the actual sounds, etc., have outdone themselves!! This was zeroed in on a most important piece of legislation during our bloodiest war, our Emancipation Proclamation---well overdue. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

After watching it for a mere 30 minutes I left as I found it to be extremely boring. I have been a history buff for well over 1/2 century …more»1 of 4 people found this review helpful-

For those of you who did not read "team of rivals" or have no knowledge of Lincolns history or who his cabinet members were, you would have been better off not seeing this movie. You need to have some kind of a brain to understand this. There …more»3 of 3 people found this review helpful-

The movie was not about the last months of Lincoln's life but about the political machinations required to acquire and retain the votes neccessary in the House of Representatives to pass the 13th Amendment to the Constitution. While Daniel Day Lewis …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

Other than learning about the underhanded way Lincoln went about getting the amendment passed, this movie was mostly like sitting down with uncle Abe for bedtime stories. One darn story after another. Yes, enough to put you to sleep. The only Spielberg …more»2 of 6 people found this review helpful
