At the end of the movie, the man asks the writer, "which story do you prefer." His answer was the one with the tiger. The man then said, "and so it goes with God." I believe what the moral of story is that with God, the story is not always happiness and joy, but that is what people want to think. People want to believe that life is full a miracles and adventures when you believe in God, but a lot of times it's not. Sometimes life is more like the second story, there is heart ache and pain and evil. But that does not mean God is not there to help you survive in the end. In life people face divorce, death, and disease, but God is still there until the very end. I think the reason the report said it was surprising how Pi survived with a bangal tiger, was to give the audience hope. Even though the second story may have been true, the first story could also have been true- sometimes God does bring wonderful miracles into your life. Another point to make was that all the struggle Pi went through, in the end he was also blessed with a beautiful wife and children.
