Water water everywhere & fish & tiger too

An absorbing if not totally captivating film about an epic voyage of an Indian boy. Picine, later changed to Pi to keep his classmates from taunting him, lived an idyllic life. His family owned a zoo in India and the animals were his freinds and pets.
Years later he and his family and the zoo had to relocate to Canada. On their sea voyage the ship sank in the Mariana trench and Pi and a hyena,a zebra,an orangatung and a tiger were the sole survivors. There were plenty of provisions on the life boat that they shared, but after 225 days adrift on the ocean, only Pi and the tiger landed on a beach in Mexico.
The movie is vividly protrayed and the cinematography spellbinding tho the 3D effect was not at all necessary since it made the scenes darker and tinted them greenish.
The movie is narrated by Pi as an adult as he tells his tale to a Canadian journalist.
Its an adventure that has to be seen to be believed!
